Editorial standards
The Sexual Wellness Center publishes evidence-informed writing on sexual health, pleasure, intimacy and identity. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.
Sources
Health and clinical claims are sourced from peer-reviewed research, professional guidelines (WHO, RCOG, ACOG, IUSTI, SAHIVS) and registered practitioner expertise. Cultural and lifestyle pieces draw from credentialed sex educators, therapists, and reputable journalism.
Fact-checking
Every article passes through editorial review before publishing. Health claims are checked against current research; statistics are dated to the source; expert quotes are confirmed.
Inclusivity
We write for everyone. Our default voice avoids assuming the reader's gender, orientation, body, or relationship structure. Where research is limited to specific populations, we say so.
Corrections
If something is wrong, we fix it and note the correction. To flag an error, write to support.
Affiliate & commercial
If we ever recommend a product with an affiliate link, we'll disclose that on the article. Editorial choices are not influenced by commercial interest.
Boundaries
We don't publish content that sexualises minors, presents non-consensual scenarios as desirable, or romanticises abuse. We don't prescribe medication or dosages. We don't make medical claims about cures.
